Yes, I'm alive. In fact, yesterday was my 30th birthday. If eve there were a timestamp to remind me to get to scrappin', that would be it. And, yes, I do do art when I can. More along the lines of exercises to keep me mind sharp than anything serious. I'll remind you and myself to be patient. I seem to have started tenuously showing again. Right now hanging with the good people of Java Creek (Map). There are books available there. If you can make it, drop by. Before the end of this month I'll see about getting more shows. As to Prints . . . another half finished jalopy of a chore rusting away on my overgrown front lawn. Don't worry, the Mrs. will get on me about that soon enough. For now I'm just looking to get back into the swing of things. Life is fine over here. Hope it's shiny your way as well. |

I'm still in a boring groove. Painting when I can. Fortunately work is boring enough that I get lots of sketching done. I put up about half of what I have in the sketchbook. Other than that, nothing worth mentioning. |

I'm allowing myself to paint again as of the first of this month. It's been exactly one year to the day since I finished the book and vowed to take the year off to concentrate on merchandising.. Expect a painting update for December. Prints, while they are on my to-do list, are not very high up on it. I have lots of priorities to get to first. Just trust me. Sold a few over 500 books this year . . . Strange, it's doesn't seem like that much. Have just a couple of quiet shows for Novemeber and December. One a holiday fair up in Georgetown Colorado, another a Small Coffee Shop's Christmas show. More on those later. |

Been busy. real busy. Between moving in my new place, an art fair earlier in the month, teaching a children's book class, and manditory overtime at work, it's hard to find free time. It's already tearing me up inside that I didn't update for September. It's playing havok on me that I haven't painted in a year. The art fair I did earlier this month was called The Castle Rock Art Fest. I didn't sell a thing . . . Oh, except, of course, every book I had on me (Hooray!). First endeavor where I made a profit. Well, I reinvested all of those monies into printing up more books that I have for an art fair later this month. Mile High Con is a Science Fiction and Fantasy convention. At first I was a little skeptical about a show like that, but the crowds seem to really respond. If the opportunity is there, who am I to pass it up? I'm tossing in a few new pictures in the sketchbook; Big Mask, and Dad vs The Thing Under My Bed. I won't officially start painting until the first of November. Halloween will be the one year anniversary of me finishing the book. So since I've not done any serious art ick. In the mean time, I'm toiling. God, I'm toiling. To get this thing up and over the hill. If any of you are out there with a spare good wish, say a little prayer for me. |

While the art horizon has been a bit quiet for me lately, I have been keeping the perverbial ball rolling; There is no shows this month, I canceled them so that I can get my pictures removed from thier frames and scanned into the computeer and offer prints. Giclees if you want to be french and fancy. For now I'm tossing in a couple of sketchbook pictures, Sludge Man and Big Headed Principal. Sketchbook pictures, as the title implies, are just ideas put out on paper more as crude experimentation than refined implimentation. When I'm not working . . . I'm always working. We have unlimited overtime at work and I need monies to both wash out my debts and to feed the growing child that is my business. While I do get dollars, my social life has sadly made its place catatonic in my closet just inbetween my poetry practive and personal time. The dusty box atop them all? Art endeavoris yet to be loved.Who knew that sharing myself with the world would be so expensive? C'est la vie. Dues are dues and, last I recall, I'm due to pay up. |

Most if not all of my efforts are geared towards financial growth. The only thing holding me back from really getting this art carreer of mine started is poverty. I remember not too long ago when I had it in my mind that the career needed to happen to me, I'm sick of waiting so I've turned to fighting. Scrapping for the art career I always wanted . . . It took me long enough to come to that realization. Uhm, life is quiet. I toil toward monies to make a proper splash and that is about all of my time right now. I found a nice day job I'm happy with and am content to rock out there. I do have a show this month at Java Creek (Map), if you happen to be near there please stop in and take a peek. If you combined it with a visit to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, I think you will do very well for yourself. In the future, I have some nice art festivals to work towards. A very nice one in Castle Rock named Castle Rock Art Fest and a second at Mile High Con. Both I expect to do well in. Infact I canceled a show I had for August so that I can properly prepare. Stay tuned for more information about those. The site, I am going to try and expand it a little. Offer prints in the store, open up a section for sketchbook material, and create an album section for both my blogs (of which I need to do more of) and my shows. Anywho, with my work cut out for me, I will sign off here and get to work creating those sections. Thanks for coming and here's to future endeavors. |

Yes, I know I did not update for May. With good reason. I am between places, between jobs, and building up a business. Be that as it may (pun intended), I have indeed kept busy. I have had four shows and showings inside the month of May. Those shows being: the tail end of the Stellas Coffeehaus show which ended on the 17th of this month; I also took part in a group show at Stripes Gallery; I did a book signing down in the Castlerock Cultural Center; and Mermorial Day weekend I showed art and sold books at Opus, a Science Fiction and Fantasy convention. (Boy, did I have fun there! There was sword fighting!) Happily, I am booked for the rest of the year 2007 for shows! The only forseeable problem is selling out of paintings before the later shows. But all in all, that would be a good problem to have. So, for the month of June I haveone show. I will be showing for the month down in Stoa (Map) located in Castlerock, Colorado. Please go take a look! For the month of July, I will be showing at Java Creek (Map). That hanging will coincide with the Cherry Creeks Arts Festival. So the show will be in good company with other awesome artist and it gives everybody an extra excuse to come out! Lastly, there is modest photo album of my shows that I just got up and running. Go see! |

Wow! I've been a busy man. Uhm, let me see what is what. I've managed to get two nice book stores, TheBook Buffs and The Bookies in the Denver area to accept me book and I am working to get a few more by month's end. I am currently hanging in a nice coffee shop here in Denver called Metropolis Coffee. Located in a prominent place intown and with SO many glowing supportive people;I also have two upcoming shows coinciding for April. One in Stella's CoffeeHaus another in Stripes Gallery. I have the works already, to fill both joints. AND, I finally have a reason to used this site's Calendar! Again, wow! I'm still selling Odding over at lulu.com, but at a reduced price!. Before the end of the month, I plan on offering it on Amazon.com. And soon thereafter, Barnesand Noble, Borders, . . . and a few others on the internet. I'm pestering the good people of Tattered Cover and Stoa. I have the Denver Library accepting copies for consideration. I am still teaching the kids. And I have one confirmed teaching gig for the univesity in the summer and fall. And, yes, I still plan on kicking ass in the mean time. Forgive the lack of a Video update today, I'm thinking I should do the Video Blogs mid month. Frankly, I've been in front of the computer too long for my tastes and I'm feeling a bit burned out. And it just makes more sense to me to do it that way. Uhm, I'll close out here. If I forgot anything, I'll update this when I post my video-blog. |
| February 1st 2007 |
Hi! The first of February, God how time flies! I've been very busy with myself, as the video below will attest. Currently, I'm toiling for promotion. In my promotional activities this month, aside from writing a press release and getting that out, I'm also working to get paintings of my hung in and around the Denver area. I've finished up four web pages, a MySpace Page, a YouTube Page, and a BlogSpot Page. On top of these, my regular homepage, of course. Copies of Odding are currently being sold though lulu.com. an internet publishing company. If, for whatever reason you do not care to buy a book through them, you can still purchase one through me. Just pop me an e-mail. Pictoral updates for the month are Odding's Front Cover and Back Cover
And with all that, just me video. Thanks for coming and I hope to see you again soon! |
| January 18th 2007 |
Hello! A couple of things that I couldn't wait to try until the next month. First: my book: Odding can now be ordered through lulu.com and internet publisher. You can view my personal store front here Book sales have been surprisingly well! I have a stock of hand made books that I am making available to close friends. I also have a number of book pages I am matting and framing up and hanging in places about Denver! Below is my first Video Blog!
Mmkay, this has to be quick and sloppy! But I'm excited to get the word out! Thank you! |
| January 1st 2007 |
Happy New Year! I hope the holidays have been kind and may your resolutions last you. Yes, I did indeed print off a first run of my book last month. And I am happy to say I sold them all before I had them finished. Thus the delay here. I've been setting up operations to print more books, I plan on having a hundred printed by the end of the month. My personal goal is to have it by the half. I'm updating the stores, I cannot offer the book for sale just yet. However I do have two samples to offer: Poise and Wall. Also I need to get to work on promotion. So I plan on opening up two more pages, a Myspace page and a YouTube page. I plan on doing video blogs. Naturally, I'll keep you all apprised of those when they come out. Mmkay, I'll call this an update here and see if I can't return next month with more good news. |
